In cooperation with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), the Water Environment Federation (WEF) is seeking nominations for the Steering Committee of the National Municipal Stormwater and Green Infrastructure Awards Program.

This awards program, led by  WEF through a cooperative agreement with the EPA, was established to recognize high-performing regulated Municipal Separate Stormwater Sewer Programs (MS4).  The objective of the awards program is to inspire MS4 program leaders to seek new and innovative ways to meet and exceed regulatory requirements in a manner that is both technically effective as well as financially efficient.  Recognition of innovative approaches is also included in this program.  The call for program applications is expected to be open from mid-March through mid-April with award winners announced and celebrated at the Stormwater Congress at WEFTEC in Chicago in September 2015.

The Steering Committee will be a group of professionals who work to develop and refine the award criteria, review applications, and recommend winners for this inaugural award season.  Committee membership is open to those in public sector (MS4 managers and regulators), private sector (consultants), and those from the non-profit sector.  Steering Committee members will have a one-year term with the opportunity to renew for additional years.  Committee work will typically be accomplished via regular conference calls scheduled roughly every few weeks with a more intense time commitment during the review period, from April through May.  The Steering Committee will have support from an Advisory Committee comprised of representatives from cooperating organizations.

If interested in participating in this newly-formed committee, please complete a short application providing background information and expertise.  Committee membership nominations are due Feb. 13 by email to Following the nomination deadline, the committee will be selected and notified in February and will promptly begin working on awards program development tasks.
